Mr. & Mrs. Hawkins to Speak at ISBA's 2013 SSF Conference

Jeff and Jennifer Hawkins will teach continuing education classes for lawyers at the Indiana State Bar Association's 2013 Solo and Small Firm Conference in French Lick, Indiana on June 7, 2013.

Jeff will teach new ways for lawyers to serve clients through creative estate planning strategies in the wake of recent federal estate and gift tax exemption laws and the the 2013 Indiana inheritance tax repeal to provide more meaningful estate planning services to clients.

Immediately after Jeff Hawkins' presentation on creative estate planning, Jennifer Hawkins and David Lynch will join Jeff in a panel discussion about rural Indiana law practice and provide statistical legal service data and practice tips to lawyers practicing or considering practicing in small, Indiana communities.

Hawkins to be Listed in Indiana's Top Rated Lawyers, 2013 Edition

Jeff Hawkins has been selected for listing in the Indianapolis Star's 2013 edition of Indiana's Top Rated Lawyers for his elder law practice, and trusts and estates practice. The Indianapolis Star also listed Jeff for his elder law practice (page 21), and trusts and estates practice (page 33) in the 2012 Edition of Indiana's Top Rated Lawyers. Jeff was  also selected for listing in the 2013 edition of the Indiana Super Lawyers magazine for estate planning and probate law at: 2013 Indiana Super Lawyers.

Hawkins Retires From TESB Co-Chairmanship

Jeff Hawkins completed his second two-year term on the Trust & Estate Specialty Board (TESB) and stepped down as one of the board's Co-Chairmen on Friday, April 19, 2013. Jeff turned over his position to fellow TESB member Lance D. Like, of Bloomington, Indiana, who joined Jeffrey S. Dible, of Indianapolis as Co-Chair.

Jeffry A. Lind, Indiana State Bar Association (ISBA) President and Past Chairman of ISBA's Probate, Trust, & Real Property Section, appointed Jeff Hawkins and Brian K. Carroll, of Evansville, Indiana, Co-Chairs of a committee to develop Indiana's trust and estate specialty certification system in 2002. Jeff and Brian adapted the Texas Bar Association's trust and estate specialty certification system to satisfy the Indiana Supreme Court's Admission and Discipline Rule 30, under which the Indiana Commission for Continuing Legal Education, an agency of the Indiana Supreme Court,  governs the Independent

Jeff Hawkins Elected Indiana State Bar Association Vice President

The Indiana State Bar Association elected Jeff Hawkins Vice President at the association's annual Assembly Luncheon in Indianapolis on October 26, 2012. Jeff Joined new ISBA President Daniel Vinovich, President-Elect James Dimos, Executive Director Thomas Pyrz, and Assistant Executive Director Susan Jacobs in the Indiana delegation that hosted Great Rivers conference of state bar association leaders in Sonoma, California, from October 31, to November 2.
